I looked at this shelf on three different devices to make sure the color is as pictured. The celadon is not a pale aqua as pictured. It is a dark teal. I checked the tag on it, and it does say celadon. Either it is mislabeled or the color pictured is way off. Also, it arrived packed in styrofoam that made a huge mess as I was unpacking it and filled three large garbage bags (my city won’t pick such materials unless bagged) that will now end up in a landfill for eternity. Breaking it up released little beads of foam all over me, my garage, and even stuck to my car. The company needs to update their packing methods to be more eco-friendly. Update: I was missing some hardware, so I e-mailed Safavieh. They were wonderful. They e- mailed me twice - once to acknowledge my inquiry and again to let me know that they were finding the needed hardware. About two weeks later the needed packet of parts arrived in the mail. Their styles are beautiful and the service was great.This shelf is great! It stands at about the level of my shoulder while I'm sitting at my desk chair, and easily fits under my window so it's perfect that way. I ordered it because I have teal nightstands from the same company and I hoped that the colors would match. The teal color of the shelf is ever so slightly lighter, but it is no problem. The ease of assembly was almost ridiculous- I basically assembled it by accident by unfolding the arms, and the shelves just popped down into place. There is hardware I could install to make it a little bit more sturdy, but with my books on it it is absolutely solid, and I like that I could easily fold it up again for storage at some point in the future if I wish. So I've just taped the hardware to the bottom of one of the shelves so I can find it in the future if needed. I could take one star off for sturdiness, just because I can see that this shelf would not be able to withstand very much rough treatment- I couldn't see it working in a child's bedroom for instance. But since I'm not climbing on it, and don't even anticipate moving it very often I think it is a great choice for me. The open pattern on the sides is unexpectedly beautiful, and gives it a sort of elegant feeling which is just right for the home office I've had to tuck into the corner of my bedroom.Sturdy and substantial for size and price. Very limited assembly so that is excellent feature. Suts purpose well. Only negatives are color is more muted less vibrant than shown and styrofoam is not responsible packaging.Based on overall looks it's a 5 star (I love the open side work). Based on ease of putting together, it's a 5 star. Based on packaging, it's a 5 star.Based on the application of the finish, it's a 1 star. The finish had the most horrible runs that obviously came from the factory. If it had been in a store looking like this, I wouldn't have purchased it, and I would have been leery about ordering one that it might come in looking like this one does. Sadly, too much of a pain to send it back so I kept it. It went in my daughter's room and she's 8 so she didn't even notice. I thought about putting it in our living area, but after seeing the finish, it definitely went to her room.It also has some what look like scuffs and scrapes and it's red in those areas. The product description doesn't say anything about it being "distressed" - if it did I wouldn't have purchased it since I wanted solid black. After getting this one home, unless I could be assured it would look like the one in the photo, I wouldn't order it again.Super dark color. Very dark teal. Looks sea foam in the picture. But I do like it. I would have given it 5 stars if the color were more accurateZero assembly. The sides swing out on hinges and the shelves fold down. No tools required!Easy to put together and set up. Sturdy. Holds everything that I bought it for. I am not going to send it back because that's too much work, and it doesn't bother me that much. However, it is much darker than pictured. I put a photo for reference.Beautiful. Unfortunately the teal is a lot darker in person than as depicted in the pictures, otherwise it would have been perfect.This is my fifth purchase of this bookcase. I love the style and its easy to assemble. My most recent purchase however did contain the hardware needed to assemble. awaiting a response from Amazon on how I can obtain the missing screws so I can use which is why I only rated it 4 stars, once I can complete assembly it will be 5 stars like the other bookcases in my office.
