Perfect for my needs! I have RA and have had to start replacing joints - my knee and hip and shoulder so far. This taller than average bench makes getting up from a seated position SO easy for a tall person like me! The handles on the sides make for great stability if you need it (I happen to already have a grab bar installed, but if you're really feeling weak after surgery using both hands on those handles is a boon and keeps you feeling stable and safe.) The bench is beautiful, very good quality and easy to put together. When I am recovered, the bench will look fabulous and spa-like outside of my shower, with fluffy white towels rolled and stacked on the shelf below the seat. A perfect spot for drying off and putting on lotion, etc. Honestly,, I prefer the look and proportions of a smaller bench, but being tall, that just wouldn't work for me. SO happy that Amazon had an alternative size in a lovely bench that works so well for me!
